This ancient village in the nearby of Soriasco in the
1000 year belonged to Piacentini, but in the 1164 it
belonged to Pavesi under the will of Federico
Barbarossa.
Milanesi between the 1214 and the 1216 besieged
"the Castle" in order to kept the feud. Today this
beautiful building is a private home, dated around the
XII century, damaged several times and rebuilt in the
1200, in the 1400 and in the 1700; we have just a
little part of the towers and the central bastion, on the
southern walls.
Since the 1412 to 1631 it belonged to Beccaria, in
the 1691 to Belcredi. In a recently period, at the
beginning of the '800 it belonged to the Genoese
Marchese Nicolò Brignole. The Parish Church located
on a plain neare the castle, dedicated to S.Alessandro
has been built around the beginnig of '700 over an
exhisting building of 1344.
But the most ancent place located in Montecalvo is
the " Grape's Church" ( XII century ), where inside
there was a precious fresco about the Grape Harvest
( stolen by unknown ).
The The vine growners product in this area pure
