If you look down from the two towers, of the "Fortress
House" owned by Counts Balduino, in a clear and
sunny day you have the sensation of dominating the
" World", all the eastern Oltrepò, and north you see
Pianura Padana with Alps and Pre Alps. The "Fortress
House" of Counts Balduino is surely, between the
castles of Lombardia, one of the most beautiful and
best preserved, surrounded by a large park, with an
Italian garden and an other in an English style.
The castle has been built over the ruins of an ancient
medieval "rock" for the will of the noble and ancient
family Belcredi, who administrated the land until the
XV century.
Until the 1617 it belonged to the flourishing family
"Strozzi", who sold the area and its castle to Ludovico
Taverna who in the 1630 as economic problems had
to sold it again to Belcredi who held it until the end of
the '700. The today owner, Balduino counts bought it
in the middle of the '800, repairing it, and preserving
inside prestigious ancient forniture of different periods.
