Probably this village has been built by " Ligurian" inhabitants,
( II - IV century a.C. ) and its history in the centuries after, 
until now,  is exactly like the history of Oltrepò Pavese 
( see  the outline of history). Today we have just few ruins
 of this millenian past. 
In Canneto Pavese  you can cultivate from its vineyards, 
between slopes and hills, two wines D. O. C. particolarly 
appreciated  " il Buttafuoco " and  " Sangue di Giuda ", and
in addition in this area it is cultivated in limited edition 
" Classese ", an excellent quality sparkling wine. In the 1984 
was born the association of the thirteen producer of 
"Classese" in order to get value to the production of  Pinot 
Spumante D.O.C.
Oltrepò Pavese classic method, to guarantee with severe 
controls by the Institut of Oenology of the Piacenza catholic 
University, that these ( little bubbles )are of great quality and
not product in an other place.
