The first human village took place in the Bronze Age
(a lot of archeological find have been found there); 
during the Roman Age it was an important agricoltural
centre, with several inhabitants, as it was located near
Romea road ,that took to Gallie.
The roman graves making the necropolis are 207.
The castle has been built in the  1200 perhaps under 
the will of Sannazzaro, it is really great and originnaly
it had a moat with 7 towers, today thay really need repairs.
It has been catch from Milanesi during the  XIII century,
and after several propiety changes (Visconti di Birago 1430),
( Arcimboldi until the 1675) and after to Pico della Mirandola.
In the  1796, it has been occupied by the Austrian army
won by the French one.
For the patronal festival it takes place the " Sagra del Cucù ".
