Its prigin is dated about on the Gallic Age. The castle 
has been built after the XIII century, and become a real
fortress, contested between people from Nivara, Vercelli
and Milano.
The first owner was Antonio de Porro from Milano in 
the 1432.
In the century after it has been destroyed and rebuilt; 
today, together with the churches, it is unique exemple 
in Lomellina.
Into the Romanic San Pietro church  ( XIII century  ) are 
located excellent frescoes of Tommasino da Mortara
( XV century).
It is really interesting to visit also the other churches,
like San Michele and Santo Stefano parish church.
During the first Sunday of September takes place the 
district parade, there are some several parties and 
challenges which last until the Sunday after with the
beautiful and funny barrow runnning, where every
concurrent handles a quintal weight bag for 1 Km.
