Garlasco
Home page
As showned by different archeologic ruins, the first
humans settled there in the 800 a.C. The village in
the 981 belonged to the Monastery of San Salvatore
of Pavia. In the 1400 so it belonged to Visconti.
Today it is possible to see just a little tower of the
ancient village ( renovated inside as a comunal office ).
Between the most important monuments there is the
parish church, in corinz style, built at the beginning of
the 1700. Not so far away from Garlasco, in Frazione
Bozzole it is located the Sancutary dedicated to the Holy
Virgin, ( in italian "Madonna" ), built in the 1462, for testify
the Madonna's apparition to a young deaf -and-dumb
shepherdess ( who has been cured), says the popular
tradition, since then the Sanctuary is a stop of really a
lot of pilgrims ias prove of believe and for the graces
received by Madonna. During April, the Angel's Monday,
is celebrated at the Madonna of the Bozzole's fest.
